CYTOGENETIC TECHNOLOGIST - 3508

Requires completion of a Cytogenetics education program with a minimum of 6 months of experience in a full service cytogenetics laboratory; or completion of a Molecular biology education program with a minimum 6 months of experience in a full service molecular biology laboratory; or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a biological science and a minimum of one year of Cytogenetics or Molecular biology experience; or successful completion of a CLS or MT program and a minimum of one year of Cytogenetics or Molecular biology experience.

SKILLS REQUIRED: TISSUE CULTURE, SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION, CYTOGENETICS, DNA/PCR

  • CYTOGENETICS LAB
    • Full-time, Days, Rotating Weekends, 40hrs/week, 9:00am-5:30pm
      This technologist will serve as a generalist within the Cytogenetic Laboratory. Responsibilities include specimen processing, short and long term tissue culturing, microscope analysis, FISH analysis, slide preparation/staining, imaging/computer enhanced karyotyping and general laboratory duties. Specialist in Cytogenetics preferred. Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm (M-F) with holiday/weekend rotation.

HISTOTECHNOLOGIST - 3506

Requires Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or a Biological Science and one year of experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be HTL (ASCP) certified.

  • SURGICAL PATHOLOGY
    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week, 9:00am-5:30pm
      Applicant must be proficient in all aspects of routine Histology, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and maintenance of equipment. In addition, advanced skills in Immunohistochemistry, special stains and frozen tissue sectioning will be expected (training provided). This position requires a minimum of 1 year of histology experience, with HTL (ASCP) certification or eligibility as defined by the ASCP. Uncertified candidates must obtain certification within 18 months of hire. Work hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional rotating Saturdays. Scheduled work hours may vary for training purposes and departmental coverage needs.

MEDICAL LABORATORY SUPERVISOR II-U - 9414

Requires Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and six years of laboratory experience, three of which must have been in supervision; or, a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biological Science plus one year of an accredited laboratory internship and six years of laboratory experience, three of which must have been in supervision. MT (ASCP) certification required. Prior hospital experience preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED: BUDGET PREPARATION, TEAMBUILDING, LABORATORY EXPERIENCE, MS EXCEL, MS WORD, STEM CELL, TRANSFUSION MEDICINE SERVICES

  • TRANSFUSION MEDICINE SERVICE
    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
      This position is responsible for management of the Transfusion Medicine/Transplantation Services which includes the Blood Bank and Apheresis Service as well as the Human Progenitor Cell, Flow Cytometry and Histocompatibility/Tissue Typing(HLA) Laboratories for McLendon Clinical Laboratories. Responsibilities include supervision of personnel, budget preparation and monitoring and strategic planning for growth. Applicant must have Bachelor's degree with a major in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or a Biological Science plus six years of laboratory experience in a related area, three of which have been in supervision. MT(ASCP)SBB Preferred.

MEDICAL LABORATORY SPECIALIST - 3502

Requires Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; or a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a biological science, plus one year of accredited laboratory internship. Three years of laboratory experience in the applicable area. MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent is required.

  • CORE LABORATORY
    • (P) Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week
      *Internal Applicants Only* This position is the technical expert for the Special Coagulation Laboratory daily operations, method development, and clinical consultations. The applicant must have an indepth knowledge of Coagulation theory and practical applications.The applicant must have completed a formal laboatory internship program and bachelor of science degree with three years of relevant experience. This positing is for internal applicants only.
      SKILLS ALSO REQUIRED: CLINICAL CHEMISTRY, HEMATOLOGY/COAGULATION

  • TRANSPLANT SERVICES LABS
    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week
      BS degree in medical technology (MT) or clinical laboratory science (CLS), ASCP, NCA or Canadian registry as a MT or eligible for registration with registration required within one-year of hiring and three years experience in the applicable area.
      SKILLS ALSO REQUIRED: STEM CELL

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST I - 3500

Requires Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MT (ASCP) preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED: TRANSFUSION MEDICINE SERVICES

  • TRANSFUSION MEDICINE SERVICE
    • Full-time, Evenings, 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., 40hrs/week
      Performance of blood bank testing and product modification. Formal Medical Technologist internship or prior Blood Bank experience required.
