    3 Anderson is a 29-bed unit that encompasses a 6-bed Intermediate Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) as well as 23=beds for cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The largest populations of patients are those with congestive heart failure or acute coronary syndrome diagnosis. Pre-and post cardiac cath interventions are managed on this unit. Nursing staff are experienced with a variety of invasive devices, including arterial lines and pacemakers. In addition, all nurses rotate through the ICCU, where they are precepted to manage vasoactive drips.

CICU nurses are precepted to successfully manage intubated and nonintubated patients with multiple vasoactive drips, pulmonary artery catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps, transcutaneous and tranvenous pacemakers and continuous renal replacement therapy. The nursing staff is in this unit are part of the hospital wide code response team.

The GI Procedures Unit provides two specialized areas (Memorial and Meadowmont) where both inpatients and outpatients may have their endoscopy procedures performed with state-of-the-art equipment. Patients range in age from newborns to geriatrics. The Motility unit provides diagnostic testing associated with physiology of the GI tract. RN staff provides a nurse/patient ratio of 1:1 during procedures. The Adult GI staff provides on-call for weekend biliary cases. Shift varies: Monday -Friday, 7:00am-7:30pm with rotating weekend on call schedule for ERCP procedures.

      This position is responsible for collecting information from multiple electronic sources to support medical staff, performance improvement, and peer review activities. The Peer Review Coordinators will support the Offices of the Chief of Staff and the Associate Chief of Staff in developing and maintaining peer review indicators; collect indicator data on processes and outcomes to assist the medical staff in identifying sub-optimal clinical outcomes; track the status of all case reviews and prepare reports to be entered into the Physician Quality profile for physician reappointment; and to perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff, Associate Chief of Staff or Patient Safety Officer to support physician peer review and/or patient safety. The position reports directly to the Patient Safety Officer for performing the job responsibilities. The position works directly with the Associate Chief of Staff who serves as chair of the Credentials Committee of the Medical Staff. In addition, the position will interface with members of the Medical Staff, Risk Management, Office of Medical Staff Services, Performance Improvement and Patient Safety. Considerable independence is expected of the Clinical Review Coordinator. Absolute accuracy and impeccable judgment are required. The employee must have a highly developed attention to detail and accuracy. Consequences of error may subject physicians to unnecessary review, and could impact the legal liability of UNC Hospitals. Verbal and written communication skills are also valuable.

Nurse Manager works with the Medicine Service Management Team and is responsible for clinical practice and operations of a well established medical unit. Position requires an individual with a strong customer service track record, solid written and verbal communication skills, good financial skills, along with a strong commitment to quality and proven track record of nursing leadership. A BSN and 2 year relevant clinical experience is required. Management position works primarily Days but may work occasional weekends/Nights as needed; 24/7 accountability.
