The Pharmacy Technician will interact directly with patients and / or their caregivers to collect medication histories. In addition, other sources may be utilized for the retrieval of medication histories and allergy information. The Pharmacy Technician will document each patient?s active medications (prescribed and OTC) in the Hospitals? electronic medical record. This information will be used by the Medical Staff to ensure safe transitions into, within, and out of UNC Hospitals. Technicians will work rotating shifts, ever other weekend, and have secondary staffing responsibilities in the inpatient/IV room pharmacy.
