      This Clinical Specialist position on the Pharmacy Informatics team will have primary responsibility for developing, improving, and maintaining pharmacy information systems. This position will collaborate with Pharmacy Informatics team members and with UNC IS to achieve departmental and hospital goals.Other responsibilities include order set management, problem solving application issues, systems testing, representing the Pharmacy IS group or the Pharmacy Department on committees, and optimizing systems to provide superior clinical support.This position may precept student or resident learners in Pharmacy Informatics. This position will participate in an on-call rotation.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.Previous pharmacy practice and pharmacy informatics experience is preferred.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - 3072

Requires completion of a nine-month Pharmacy Technician program or high school diploma and one year of pharmacy-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

      This position will work for 40 hours per week in the iv pharmacy with every other weekend responsibility.

      This position will work for 40 hours per week in the inpatient pharmacy on a rotating shift basis with every other weekend responsibility -this employee will be cross trained in all areas of the central inpatient pharmacy-iv-o/r-inpatient-chemo-ids.
    • Full-time, Rotating, 40hrs/week
      The successful pharmacy technician will have primary work responsibilities in the Emergency Department (ED) collecting admission medication histories, offer stewardship over the medication distribution process, and serve as a liaison forpatients admitted to the hospital. The Pharmacy Technician will interact directly with patients and / or their caregivers to collect medication histories. In addition, other sources may be utilized for the retrieval of medication histories and allergy information. The Pharmacy Technician will document each patient?s active medications (prescribed and OTC) in the Hospitals? electronic medical record. This information will be used by the Medical Staff to ensure safe transitions into, within, and out of UNC Hospitals. Technicians will work rotating shifts, ever other weekend, and have secondary staffing responsibilities in the inpatient/IV room pharmacy. Candidates with good communications skills, in depth knowledge of medication names, knowledge of medical terminology, and outpatient pharmacy experience are preferred.

      This position will work in the IV-Inpatient pharmacies for 40 hours per week on a rotating shift basis with every other weekend responsibility. The applicant will be cross trained to work in the inpatient and iv pharmacies.

      Technology Technician: Facilitate and route all requests for new Automated Dispensing Machines and supportive equipment in a standard and clearly communicated fashion; assist with and or perform minor repairs on Automated Dispensing Machines (i.e. fix broken drawers, fix broken bio ID's and replace broken parts); coordinate preventive maintenance on Automated Dispensing Machines; serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and others involved in systems development including vendors and ancillary departments; develop a proficiency and understanding of the infrastructure of all avenues of Automated Dispensing Machines; assist in training new users on operation of Automated Dispensing Machines to ensure that new users demonstrate required competency prior to gaining access; serve as the contact for user access to Automated Dispensing Machines and supportive equipment. This position will have an every other weekend responsibility
