Nursing/Registered Nurse (RN)/Oncology


ONCOLOGY NURSE NAVIGATOR - 2120

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing, attainment of a BSN degree and Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) within two years of employment and the ability to maintain OCN credentials throughout employment. Requires two years of nursing experience, one in the area of oncology specialization. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

  • ONCOLOGY PROGRAM
    • Full-time, Days, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, 40hrs/week
      Registered Nurse will facilitate the treatment plan of patients diagnosed with breast cancer. Registered Nurse will work closely with the multidisciplinary group in the UNC Breast Program from diagnosis until survivorship. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary in this position. OCN certification preferred.

CLINICAL NURSE II/TIER I - 2018

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.

  • 4 ONCOLOGY

    Adult Hematology/Oncology Unit: This 34-bed unit provides specialized care to patients requiring diagnosis and treatment of solid tumor diseases, hematologic malignancies and benign hematological disorders. Specially trained nurses provide exceptional care including, but not limited to, chemotherapy/biotherapy infusion, transfusion and electrolyte support, and side effect management.

    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Rotating, (7:00am - 7:00pm) (7:00pm - 7:00am) occ. weekends, 36hrs/week
      Experienced RN needed for inpatient Hemotology/Oncology unit in the new North Carolina Cancer Hospital. Chemotherapy experience preferred but not necessary.
    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Weekends, Rotating, 36hrs/week, 7:00am-7:30pm
      Experienced CNII/Tier I needed for in-patient 6 East Oncology - 36 hr shift - day/night position with rotating weekends.

  • ONCOLOGY OP INFUSION CENTER

    Licensed RN with oncology nursing experience preferred to work in a busy Oncology Infusion Area. Must have excellent IV and be experienced in accessing and managing venous access devices. Must be taken or be eligible to enroll in an ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course for certification. Must have good communication and patient teaching skills. ONS Certification would be valued asset. Will have the opportunity of moving to and working in the newly constructed NC Cancer Hospital in 2009.

    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week, 9:00am-5:30pm
      Chemotherapy experience and certification preferred. Will provide direct patient care to hematology/oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy/biotherapy treatment in an active OP Infusion Clinic. Prefer RN with current oncology nursing experience.
    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week, 9:00am-5:30pm
      / RN with current oncology experience and ability to administer chemotherapy/biotherapy. OCN certification and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certification preferred. Good communicaton and teaching skills.

  • SURG ONC 6 EAST
    • Full-time, Days, Nights, Rotating, with possibility of every 3rd weekend, 40hrs/week
    • Full-time, Days, Nights, Weekends, 40hrs/week
    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Weekends, Rotating, 36hrs/week

CLINICAL NURSE II/TIER II - 2022

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.

  • SURGICAL ONCOLOGY CLINIC
    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week

CLINICAL NURSE IV/TIER I - 2020

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing, BSN, and 18 months of professional nursing experience in a tertiary care setting to include didactic and clinical experience in the area of assignment preferably with charge and precepting experience in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Management experience preferred.

  • BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT UNIT
    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Rotating, Possible every 3rd weekend, 36hrs/week


  • PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY CLINIC

    Clinical Nurse Level 1V, Level I - Position functions as the Assistant Nurse Manager dynamic in a growing outpatient Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic in the recently opened (8/09) University of North Carolina Cancer Hospital. This clinic serves patients both locally and state-wide and provides individual physician care and chemotherapy/biotherapy administration on an outpatient basis. The Assistant Nurse Manager (Clinical Nurse IV) would be responsible for oversight of the daily operation of the clinic and staff practice and education.

    • Full-time, Days, 8:00am - 5:00pm, 40hrs/week
      Applicant will be an RN licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina and who has graduated from a state-accredited school of professional nursing, has earned a BSN, and has 18 months of professional nursing experience in a tertiary care setting to include didactic and clinical experience in the area of assignment preferably with charge and precepting experience in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of experience. Applicant will also have recent pediatric hematology/oncology experience and be skilled in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy to pediatric patients in an outpatient setting. Must have experience in supervising other clinical workers and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Should hold current APON or CPON certification. Some recent management experience preferred.

CLINICAL NURSE PD - 7003

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.

  • SURG ONC 6 EAST
    • Per-diem, Rotating, 7:00am - 7:00pm
