Nursing/Registered Nurse (RN)/Heart Center


CLINICAL NURSE II/TIER I - 2018

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.

  • 3 ANDERSON-CARDIOLOGY/TELEMETRY

    3 Anderson is a 29-bed unit that encompasses a 6-bed Intermediate Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) as well as 23=beds for cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The largest populations of patients are those with congestive heart failure or acute coronary syndrome diagnosis. Pre-and post cardiac cath interventions are managed on this unit. Nursing staff are experienced with a variety of invasive devices, including arterial lines and pacemakers. In addition, all nurses rotate through the ICCU, where they are precepted to manage vasoactive drips.

    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Rotating, 7am-7pm, 36hrs/week
    • Part-time, Rotating, 36hrs/week
    • Part-time, Nights, 24hrs/week, 7:00pm-7:00am

  • 4 AND SOUTH - CT SURG STEPDOWN/TELEMETRY

    4 Anderson South (4AS) consist of an 8-bed Cardiothoracic Step-down Unit (CTSU) and an 8-bed acute care cardiosurgical unit. We are responsible for the care of cardiothoracic surgical patients throughout their stay at UNC Hospitals. 4 Anderson nurses are adept at caring for patients who have undergone major cardiac or thoracic surgery, heart/lung transplantation, or procedures requiring postoperative telemetry and/or respiratory monitoring.

    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Weekends, Rotating, 36hrs/week

  • CARDIAC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

    The Cardiac ICU is a 13-bed critical care unit specializing in the management of patients with a variety of cardiac conditions. These include myocardial infarction, acute decompensated heart failure/cardiomyopathy, pre-and post-cardiac transplant, cardiogenic shock, unstable dysrhythmias and multisystem organ failure. CICU nurses are precepted to successfully manage intubated and nonintubated patients with multiple vasoactive drips, pulmonary artery catheters, intra-aortic balloon pumps, transcutaneous and tranvenous pacemakers and continuous renal replacement therapy. The nursing staff is in this unit are part of the hospital wide code response team.

    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Weekends, Rotating, 36hrs/week, 7:00am-7:30pm
    • Part-time, Days, Nights, Weekends, Rotating, 36hrs/week

CLINICAL NURSE PD - 7003

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing.

  • 4 AND SOUTH - CT SURG STEPDOWN/TELEMETRY
    • Days, Nights, Rotating

  • HEART CENTER PER DIEM
    • Per-diem, Days, Nights, Rotating
