RADIATION DOSIMETRIST - 2907

Requires any combination of education and experience that will lead to Board eligibility within four years of date of hire. Board eligibility or certification by the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists is preferred. B.S./B.A. in a scientific technical field such as physics or math and one year of experience in a health environment, or graduation from a school of medical dosimetry. Must become Board eligible within four years from date of hire.

  • RADIATION ONCOLOGY
    • Full-time, Days, 40hrs/week
      We are growing! The Division of Physics and Computing in the Department of Radiation Oncology has an immediate opening for a 5th Medical Dosimetrist. The Division currently has 4 Dosimetrists who are an integral part of our tightly-knit clinical physics and dosimetry group which consists of clinical physicists, dosimetrists, an accelerator engineer, post-docs, trainees and students. The Division provides a great environment for workload sharing and help is always available. The Medical Dosimetrist responsibilities include but are not limited to; treatment planning for routine external beam therapy ; CT-based 3D conformal therapy and IMRT ; LDR and HDR brachytherapy ; review of the patient's electronic medical record/s and routine QA activities as needed Major equipment includes : In-house developed PLanUNC treatment planning software ; Philips Brilliance Big Bore 16 CT/simulator ; Oldelft Evolution simulator with CBCT and digital imaging; Three Siemens accelerators; Nucletron HDR system; Varian prostate implant system; Mosaiq record and verify system; Mobetron intraoperative electron accelerator; and CyberKnife. Image guidance/adaptive radiotherapy is available as follows: CT on-rails unit (Siemens Emotion) is in use on our Primus accelerator; Calypso 4D localization system is in use on our Oncor accelerator; VisionRT will be available this month on our Artiste accelerator, which already has megavoltage CBCT capabilities. Qualified candidates must be Certified Medical Dosimetrists with experience in 3D conformal and IMRT treatment planning or a new graduate from a Medical Dosimetry program or B.S/B.A. in a scientific technical field with on the-the-job training in Dosimetry from a board-certified physicist or dosimetrist with at least three years of work experience as a Radiation Therapist. Candidates must be able to work a 40 hour week 8 hour day schedule.

RADIATION THERAPY TECHNOLOGIST - 3756

Requires high school diploma or GED and graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA), and certification eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology.

SKILLS REQUIRED: DIRECT PATIENT CARE, MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE (GENERAL), CERTIFICATION ELIGIBLE, COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE

  • RADIATION ONCOLOGY

    Must be proficient in the following areas: simulation, basic dosimetry, radiation therapy treatment including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, low and high dose brachytherapy, diagnostic radiography, immobilization techniques, computerized tomography and radiation therapy linear accelerators and equipment.

    • Full-time, Days, Rotating, 40hrs/week
      Requires graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program. Candidates should be rgistered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligible for registry. Employees have one year to become registered and mustmaintain their registry status and contiuing education requirements.Clinical instruction to radiation therapy students is required.Rotating 40hr shifts Monday-Friday with varying hours between 6:30am-8:30pm.
